We size on DPI-SSL throughput with threat prevention enabled, not the headline firewall number. A small Atlanta office on a 500 Mbps circuit with 15 users is usually a TZ370 or TZ470. When the firewall sees a file it has not classified - typical for new malware, ransomware droppers, and zero-days - it can hold the file, detonate it in the cloud sandbox, and block it before it reaches the endpoint. For HIPAA, PCI, and any practice that has watched a peer get hit by ransomware, this is the single highest-ROI license to turn on.
