Structured Cabling Systems

BICSI-aligned structured cabling infrastructure — CAT6, CAT6A, fiber backbone, and telecom — installed and certified for commercial and institutional facilities nationwide.

Infrastructure Built for Performance and Longevity

Structured Cabling is the foundation every other building technology system runs on. Undersized infrastructure, poor termination quality, and inadequate documentation create problems for years after a project closes. JB Technologies installs BICSI-aligned cabling systems designed for the current deployment and the next ten years of technology growth — with certified testing on every link.

CAT6 & CAT6A Horizontal Cabling

We install plenum and riser-rated CAT6 and CAT6A horizontal cabling from the IDF to each work area outlet. Every link is tested with a Fluke DSX cable analyzer and certified to channel standards, with test reports delivered at project closeout.

MDF & IDF Infrastructure

We build out Main Distribution Frames and Intermediate Distribution Frames with wall-mount and floor-standing equipment racks, cable management, patch panels, and grounding and bonding compliant with TIA-607.

Fiber Optic Backbone

OS2 single-mode and OM4 multimode fiber backbone cabling between MDFs and IDFs, terminated in LIU enclosures and tested with an OTDR. Backbone design accounts for current switch counts and 20% spare capacity for future growth.

Telecom Outlets & Patch Panels

We install flush-mount keystone jacks and faceplate assemblies at each work area, patch panels at the headend, and coordinate cable routing with the electrical contractor for clean, accessible horizontal pathways.

Structured Cabling for Every Building Type

Network infrastructure requirements differ by building size, occupancy, and technology density. JB Technologies has installed structured cabling systems across a wide range of facility types nationwide.

Office & Commercial

High-density open office and private office cabling with CAT6A for PoE lighting, WAPs, and VoIP — designed for current deployment and future technology upgrades.

Healthcare

Hospital and clinic structured cabling with CAT6A runs for nurse call, patient monitoring, VoIP, and clinical workstations — installed to HIPAA-compliant documentation standards.

Education

K-12 and university campus cabling for classrooms, labs, libraries, and administrative areas — with backbone fiber connecting buildings across campus.

Warehouse & Industrial

Industrial-grade cabling for warehouse management systems, barcode scanners, IP cameras, and wireless infrastructure across high-bay and dock-door environments.

Data Center & Server Rooms

Structured Cabling inside data centers and server rooms — including high-density fiber patching, copper TDA, and cable management for hot-aisle containment.

Multifamily

Structured Cabling for apartment and student housing common areas, leasing offices, amenity spaces, and fiber-to-the-unit deployments.

Structured Cabling Capabilities

Fluke DSX Certified Testing

Every copper link is tested with a Fluke DSX cable analyzer to TIA channel standards. Pass/fail reports are delivered electronically at project closeout.

OTDR Fiber Testing

All fiber runs are tested with an OTDR in both directions. Results are documented per TIA-526 and delivered as part of the closeout package.

TIA-606 Labeling

All outlets, patch panel ports, and backbone cables are labeled to TIA-606 standards with durable labels and documented in an as-built record.

20% Spare Capacity Design

Patch panels and fiber enclosures are sized with 20% spare ports by default to accommodate adds, moves, and technology upgrades without a full rip-and-replace.

Pathway Coordination

We coordinate horizontal and vertical cable pathways with the electrical contractor, GC, and ceiling subcontractors to avoid conflicts and ensure accessible routes.

Closeout Documentation

Full as-built documentation including test reports, labeling records, rack elevations, and pathway drawings delivered at project completion.

Standards We Design To

Every structured cabling installation is engineered to current ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.

ANSI/TIA-568

Commercial building telecommunications cabling standard — the primary standard governing cable types, performance categories, and component specifications.

BICSI TDMM

Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual — the industry reference for MDF/IDF layout, pathway design, and infrastructure documentation.

TIA-606

Administration standard for telecommunications infrastructure — governing labeling, documentation, and record-keeping for structured cabling systems.
