Smart video intercoms, package rooms, and elevator access for Atlanta multifamily, mixed-use, and Class A residential properties — designed, installed, and supported by JB Technologies.
ButterflyMX is the leading cloud-based smart video intercom and property-access platform for multifamily, mixed-use, and student housing communities. Instead of legacy wired intercoms with handsets in every unit, ButterflyMX uses a sleek touchscreen panel at the entrance and a mobile app on each resident's phone — letting tenants see and speak with visitors, open doors remotely, issue virtual keys for guests and vendors, and manage deliveries from anywhere. For property owners and managers, the platform centralizes access logs, integrates with leading PMS platforms like RealPage, Yardi, and Entrata, and extends across package rooms, amenity spaces, elevators, and parking gates. JB Technologies designs, installs, and supports ButterflyMX systems across metro Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Marietta, and the broader Southeast — handling low-voltage cabling, network readiness, door hardware integration, PMS provisioning, and resident onboarding for new construction lease-ups and retrofit conversions of older 1980s and 1990s garden-style assets alike.
Flagship touchscreen panel at the building entrance with HD video calling to resident phones, virtual keys, delivery passes, and a directory — surface-mount or flush-mount weatherized hardware.
Concierge and front-desk tablet that lets staff manage visitors, log packages, issue virtual keys, and hand off after-hours calls to the mobile app for unstaffed coverage.
Self-service package room with smart lock and PIN-based courier access, supporting UPS, FedEx, USPS, and Amazon — solving porch-piracy and overflow at the leasing office.
Cloud-based elevator access that restricts riders to permitted floors via the resident app or PIN, working with most major elevator manufacturers and traveling-cable controllers.
In-unit and amenity smart-lock integrations (Yale, August, Salto, Latch alternatives) that unify gate, door, amenity, and unit-entry access in one resident app.
Driveway and parking-gate readers with license-plate recognition and virtual keys — useful for garden-style and gated communities common across metro Atlanta.
Web-based admin OS for property managers: resident provisioning, access logs, audit trails, building directory, and PMS sync with RealPage, Yardi, Entrata, AppFolio, and others.
Midtown, Buckhead, and West Midtown towers where lobby experience and contactless visitor entry are core to the lease-up story and Yelp/Google review scores.
Suburban Atlanta communities in Marietta, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and Gwinnett where multiple building entries, gates, and amenity buildings need unified resident access.
Mixed-use developments with retail on the ground floor and residential above, where ButterflyMX separates resident, guest, vendor, and commercial-tenant entry on a single panel.
Owner-occupied condo associations replacing aging Aiphone or DoorKing intercoms — ButterflyMX eliminates the in-unit handset and per-unit wiring rip-and-replace.
Student housing near Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Emory plus build-to-rent SFR communities where high tenant turnover demands instant credential provisioning and revocation.
Boutique office buildings and shared amenity centers using ButterflyMX as a visitor-management front door tied into existing access control.
JB Technologies works on dozens of multifamily projects across metro Atlanta each year — we understand lease-up timelines, MDU low-voltage rough-in, NEC requirements, and how ButterflyMX fits alongside access control, cameras, and Wi-Fi as a single coordinated system.
A ButterflyMX rollout lives or dies on resident data and network readiness. We coordinate the RealPage / Yardi / Entrata sync, validate PoE and uplinks, and stage the cutover so day-one residents are not locked out.
We pull new low-voltage where needed, but we also know how to reuse existing intercom risers, door strikes, mag locks, and gate controllers — keeping retrofit budgets sane on 1980s and 1990s garden-style portfolios.
Atlanta-based technicians, not a national subcontractor pool. When a panel goes offline at 2am during a lease-up weekend, you have a local number to call and a truck that can be on site the same day.
We walk every entry, package room, amenity, gate, and elevator with your PM or GC, document existing infrastructure, and confirm power, network, and door-hardware readiness for ButterflyMX.
We produce a fixed-price proposal with panel locations, BOM, low-voltage cabling, integrations (PMS, locks, elevator, gates), and a phased schedule that aligns with TCO and lease-up dates.
Licensed low-voltage technicians install panels, run cabling, terminate door hardware, and commission the system in the ButterflyMX OS — including PMS sync and resident directory load.
We train on-site staff on the Front Desk Station and admin OS, hand off documentation, and provide ongoing service plans covering moves/adds/changes, firmware, and break-fix response.
Yes. ButterflyMX has native integrations with the major multifamily PMS platforms — including RealPage, Yardi Voyager, Entrata, AppFolio, and ResMan — so resident data syncs automatically when leases are signed, renewed, or terminated. That means new residents get app access on day one and ex-residents lose access on move-out without the property manager touching a spreadsheet. During a JB Technologies install we coordinate directly with your PMS admin to map property IDs, building IDs, and unit numbers so the directory matches what residents see in their lease portal. If you run a less common PMS, we can usually configure CSV-based provisioning or use the ButterflyMX API.
Yes — the ButterflyMX Package Room is a self-service room with a smart lock that gives delivery couriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, Amazon, DoorDash) one-time PIN access via their normal courier workflows. Couriers drop packages inside, residents get a notification with a unique PIN, and access logs show who entered and when. For Atlanta garden-style and high-rise properties dealing with daily package overflow at the leasing office, this is usually the fastest payback feature of the whole platform. JB Technologies handles the smart lock, door hardware, network drop, and any low-voltage modifications needed to convert an existing storage room into a working package room.
Yes. ButterflyMX Elevator Controls integrate with most major elevator manufacturers (KONE, Otis, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp, Mitsubishi) and restrict riders to authorized floors based on their resident profile, virtual key, or guest pass. The integration typically requires a relay interface in the elevator machine room and coordination with the elevator vendor on the traveling-cable schedule. We work directly with your elevator service provider during the install — this is usually the trickiest line item on a high-rise ButterflyMX project, and we plan it carefully to avoid scope friction with the elevator contractor.
Each ButterflyMX panel needs a Cat6 PoE+ drop back to a managed switch with reliable internet — the panels are cloud-connected, so an outage at the building means an outage at the front door. We typically deploy a small dedicated VLAN for ButterflyMX hardware, a managed PoE switch with appropriate UPS backup, and a redundant ISP path or LTE failover on properties where uptime is critical. Door strikes and mag locks need their own 12V or 24V supply and fail-safe / fail-secure logic per code. JB Technologies handles all of the low-voltage, networking, and door-hardware coordination as part of the install scope.
ButterflyMX is sold as hardware plus a per-property SaaS subscription billed monthly or annually. The subscription covers cloud hosting, mobile apps for residents, the admin OS, software updates, and standard support — there are no per-resident or per-call fees, and residents do not pay anything. Pricing scales by unit count and which modules you turn on (intercom, package room, elevator, vehicle access, etc.). On the JB Technologies side we sell hardware, low-voltage installation, integration work, and an optional service plan for moves/adds/changes and break-fix. We will quote both line items transparently.
Yes. We regularly work with regional owners and operators standardizing on ButterflyMX across multiple assets in metro Atlanta and the Southeast. The right approach is usually a phased rollout: we start with one or two pilot properties to lock in the PMS integration, panel hardware spec, and resident-onboarding playbook, then replicate it across the rest of the portfolio on a schedule tied to renewal cycles, refi events, or lease-up windows. We handle property-by-property site walks, design, install, and commissioning under a single master agreement, and we coordinate with your regional or asset-management team on monthly reporting and recurring service.
Tell us about your facility and we will scope the right design, sizing, and integration plan.
