JB Technologies installs ButterflyMX Smart Locks across Georgia multifamily, mixed-use, and office buildings. The Smart Lock is a connected lock built for amenity spaces, gym, mailroom, package room, pool deck, parking garage door, business center, cowork lounge, dog wash, bike room, or any other shared space where residents and tenants need access without a key or fob.

The advantage is platform consolidation. If your building already runs ButterflyMX Video Intercom at the front entry, the Smart Lock runs on the same cloud platform, with the same property management integrations (Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, AppFolio), the same mobile app, and the same admin console. Your residents get one credential that opens the lobby, the gym, the package room, and the garage. Your property manager provisions and revokes that credential in one place. Your maintenance team does not learn a second system.

What we install

A typical JBT ButterflyMX Smart Lock scope for a Georgia multifamily building covers:

• Gym and fitness center access, with optional time-of-day restrictions so the gym is residents-only during off-hours
• Mailroom access, separated from general lobby so residents can pick up mail without anyone else reaching the package area

Smart Locks plug into the ButterflyMX cloud so that everything you do at the Video Intercom panel, adding a new resident, revoking a former tenant, granting a service technician temporary access, propagates to every amenity lock automatically. Through the integrations with Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, and AppFolio, you do not have to maintain separate user lists for the intercom and the smart locks.

ButterflyMX Smart Locks also integrate with select third-party access platforms including HID Origo, Brivo, and OpenPath (now Avigilon Alta Access) for buildings that already run those systems on perimeter doors. JBT designs and installs both ButterflyMX-native deployments and mixed deployments where ButterflyMX handles the resident-facing intercom and amenity access while a separate enterprise system handles back-of-house, server room, or corporate access doors.

Hardware and door prep

The ButterflyMX Smart Lock is designed to fit standard commercial door prep. JBT crews handle door alignment checks during the site walk, install the lock with proper strike alignment and weather sealing where exterior, run any necessary low-voltage cabling for door position sensors or request-to-exit hardware where the design calls for them, and confirm Bluetooth and cellular signal at each lock location during commissioning. If a door needs a power transfer hinge, a new strike, or any frame modification, we coordinate with the locksmith or door supplier so the install happens in one site visit rather than three.
