The product replaces the analog handset that has lived next to most office lobby elevators since the 1990s with a glass-front touchscreen panel: visitors scroll a directory of every tenant in the building, tap the suite they are looking for, and ButterflyMX places a video call directly to the recipient's smartphone, desk phone, or both.
For office tenants, this fixes three real problems. First, the old analog handset only worked if the tenant happened to be at their desk; if they were in a meeting room, in a hot-desk setup, or working from home, the visitor was stranded. ButterflyMX rings the cell, so the tenant takes the call wherever they are. Second, the visitor sees a tenant directory rather than guessing a four-digit code from a paper sheet taped to the wall. Tenant phone integration
ButterflyMX places the video call from the lobby panel directly to each tenant's smartphone using the ButterflyMX mobile app. The tenant answers from anywhere, sees the visitor on video, talks to them, and taps to grant access. There is no PBX integration to build, no SIP trunk to provision, and no per-extension phone configuration to maintain when tenants come and go. When a tenant moves out, building management removes them from the directory and their entry disappears.
Property management and credential issuance
For mobile credentials, ButterflyMX issues a mobile credential to each tenant employee through the app. The tenant company designates one or more administrators who can add or remove employees themselves, so the building does not become a bottleneck for credential management every time a tenant hires or terminates someone. Building management retains visibility and override at the platform level.
